Last Friday a package full of motivation arrived, or in other words: it’s time for another book haul!

Ragdoll by Daniel Cole

A body is discovered with the dismembered parts of six victims stitched together like a puppet, nicknamed by the press as the ‘ragdoll’.

Assigned to the shocking case are Detective William ‘Wolf’ Fawkes, recently reinstated to the London Met, and his former partner Detective Emily Baxter.

The ‘Ragdoll Killer’ taunts the police by releasing a list of names to the media, and the dates on which he intends to murder them.

With six people to save, can Fawkes and Baxter catch a killer when the world is watching their every move?

Ever since I saw this book at the bookshop, I knew I’d buy it someday. The blurb makes it sound like THE perfect thriller and the Dutch version (I bought the English one though) looks really cool! The spine of the book is made like it’s sewn, if that makes any sense at all. Anyways, really looking forward to reading this one!

The Hound of the Baskervilles by Arthur Conan Doyle

“Mr Holmes, they were the footprints of a gigantic hound!”

The terrible spectacle of the beast, the fog of the moor, the discovery of a body: this classic horror story pits detective against dog, rationalism against the supernatural, good against evil. When Sir Charles Baskerville is found dead on the wild Devon moorland with the footprints of a giant hound nearby, the blame is placed on a family curse. It is left to Sherlock Holmes and Doctor Watson to solve the mystery of the legend of the phantom hound before Sir Charles’ heir comes to an equally gruesome end. The Hound of the Baskervilles gripped readers when it was first serialised and has continued to hold its place in the popular imagination.

I really like a good murder mystery, so when it gets combined with the supernatural, I get even more excited! I’ve never ever read a Sherlock Holmes, but this story was my favourite in the Sherlock series, so I’m really curious about the original!

Have your read either of these books?
